Pancakes
Ingredients
- 4oz (113g) plain flour
- 1 egg
- ¼ pt milk
- ¼ pt water
- Lard (for greasing the frying pan)
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients together and beat well until a batter is formed. The consistency should be like cream – quite thick but runny
- Heat a small frying pan and add a small knob of lard
- When the lard has melted (should take a second or so if the pan is hot enough) pour in the batter and swirl around the pan
- Cook, flip, and cook the other side, then place on a preheated plate to keep warm in the oven
- Repeat from step 2 until no batter remains
- Enjoy with sugar and lemon (or other toppings of your choice, e.g. chocolate sauce and Cointreau)
