Yorkshire Puddings
Ingredients
- 3oz (75g) plain flour
- 1 egg
- 3 fl oz (75ml) milk
- 2 fl oz (50ml) water
Instructions
- The oven needs to be heated to 220°C (425°F/gas mark 7)
- Use either dripping from the roast or vegetable oil, and heat in the pan while preparing the batter, as this must be sizzling hot before the batter is added
- Sift the flour into a bowl and form a well in the centre
- Break the egg into it and beat, gradually incorporating the flour
- Beat in the milk and water
- Add to the sizzling-hot pan and return to the highest shelf in the oven for 25-30min
- Serve as soon as possible to avoid loss of crunchiness
